Should BTS Enlist in the Military? Survey Reveals Public Sentiments

As the clock keeps ticking, many are wondering if BTS will enlist in mandatory military service. A survey was recently held to determine the public's opinion on the possibility. Keep on reading to learn more about the situation.

Survey Reveals Public's Opinion on BTS's Military Service Issue

On September 4, Jowon C&I, a company specializing in public opinion surveys, announced the results of "BTS's Special Military Service Exemption Survey." The survey was conducted at the request of Straight News.

Over 1,000 citizens nationwide participated in the survey. In the results, it was discovered that 54.1% of voters agreed that BTS should enlist in their mandatory military service duties. 40.1% of respondents stated that BTS should not receive any special benefits.

The respondents who agreed that BTS must enlist in the military service came out evenly for both men and women in all regions.

To be specific, 73.2% of those in their 20s believe BTS should enlist in the military. Furthermore, more than half of men (58.1%) and women (50.3%) stated that BTS should fulfill their mandatory military duties.

On September 1, the Ministry of National Defense released a statement that revealed they requested a public opinion survey to be held concerning BTS's military enlistment. This comes after media outlets released several reports stating the Ministry would make a policy decision on BTS's military service.

They stated that they will not be enacting a policy based on the results of the survey alone and that the purpose of the survey remains unchanged from their current position.

Despite that, they want to listen to the public's opinion.
