In an interview, YoonA candidly addressed the rumor that she gained 10kg recently.
SNSD YoonA Confirms She Gained Weight, Clarifies It's Not 10kg
In an exclusive interview with Herald Pop, Girls' Generation YoonA talked about various topics including her career as an actress and her upcoming project, "King The Land," with 2PM Lee Junho.
While having a conversation with the media outlet, YoonA personally addressed the article claiming that she increased her weight by 10kg, which became a hot topic in various online communities.
On this day, Lim YoonA clarified:
"There are many comments saying that I gained 10kg. I've never told that story anywhere. I don't know where that came from. I did gain weight for my next project, but it's not 10kg. The weight on my profile is not reliable."
Yoona also revealed why she decided to gain weight, saying:
"They told me that I looked good because I looked healthy, so I wanted to show a different image in my next work.
I try to exercise hard to pay more attention to my appearance and change it, so I ate a lot really well. I ate a lot of late-night snacks because I had a lot of night shoots. I was trying to increase it a little for the next work and I succeeded."
In context, YoonA in August became the center of attention when internet users discussed how she got "heavier" and looks healthier compared to her skinny figure during her debut days.
Although there are people who want her to maintain her "wannabe" body, SONEs (SNSD fans) attested to the singer that she's beautiful either way and she can do whatever she wants with her body.
YoonA Conveys Feelings on Working With 2PM Junho
As the broadcast went on, the "Summer Night" singer also expressed her feelings about working with fellow idol turned actor 2PM Junho, who's also her friend in real life. She confessed:
"It was a new feeling to meet again as an actor, starting with my singing career. I think there are many things that I sympathize with him because the time I have been through until I became an actor alone is similar.
I also felt it when I was the MC of the KBS Gayo Festival last year, and I felt more proud and happy to be able to meet him separately as an actor."
She concluded:
"It was new to be able to work together because he is an actor who is loved so much. I'm looking forward to it a lot, too. It will be a very meaningful and pleasant work to meet 2PM and Girls' Generation as Lee Junho and Lim YoonA. Please look forward to it."
"King The Land" (tentative title) is set air in 2023.
