Were LE SSERAFIM Sakura and Kazuha Sexually Harassed?
In a YouTube video containing the event, it was said that the two were together when they appeared on a Japanese variety show.
After hearing the shocking question, the two nervously answered that they did not know. This is where it became more shocking and upsetting for many LE SSERAFIM fans, FEARNOTs.
The Japanese male host did not stop asking them about it. He asked why the two did not know. He continued saying that they must have known because they must have gone with their boyfriends.
Then, he still continued egging the two with unfathomable questions like:
"Why are you acting as if you don't know?"
FEARNOTs Angry At The Japanese Host
To this, LE SSERAFIM fans were angered by the Japanese host. Even non-fans were displeased at the questions asked.
In a PANN article, the poster said that if that man was a Korean host, he would be easily criticized by many netizens..
Many of the comments agreed with the post saying Japanese variety shows are such weird shows and even weirder for allowing men to ask these types of questions to their guests.
The PANN comments were of mixed reactions as some thought that the two might be used to it as they are Japanese themselves.
"Anyways, they're both Japanese."
"It's not like our country's members heard this, people from that country all do stuff like that to each other... There's no need for our country to know what is happening in their country."
Other comments simply stated that it is usual with female idols and the two were treated as such.
"That man is talking to them more like they were AKB members than Korean idols"
However, others noticed that Japan does not really value women as much as men because of questions like these.
"Japan d**n has low women's rights"
"Are they not swearing at them when they talk like that over there..? Whether you're a man or a woman, people nobody would be able to talk like that because of the backlash they'd get online."
The same goes with international K-pop fans' reactions. They find the act horrible and condemn the male Japanese host.
Many fans also mentioned that Japanese men do not see women as their equal and that sexual harassment is rampant in the country.
