Are TWICE members really close? In an interview, the eldest member Nayeon described her relationship with the group.
Nayeon Dishes on Work Ethics, Feelings About Comeback, Relationship With TWICE
On September 19, ELLE Korea released a preview of Nayeon's pictorial as the cover for the magazine's October issue.
In her photos, the female idol amazed fans with her top-tier visual, wearing an office outfit. In another picture, Nayeon attracted people's attention as she flaunted her bright smile and signature "bunny front teeth."
Along with the photos, a short excerpt from her interview was also unveiled, revealing her work ethic and feelings about her recent solo debut and comeback.
In particular, TWICE sold out two consecutive performances at the Los Angeles Banc of California Stadium in May, as part of their world tour. This is a huge achievement as the nine-member group became the first K-pop girl group to do this in history.
In line with this, Nayeon hinted at TWICE's work ethics, saying:
"All the members love performing and are ambitious. We always try to come up with new attempts or ideas in the hope that the audience who came to the concert will never regret coming."
Nayeon, the eldest in TWICE, became the first runner to debut as a solo artist in June. In August, the team continued success as their released their 11th mini-album, "Between 1&2," along with the title track, "Talk That Talk."
Regarding her thoughts on their activities, Nayeon said she felt grateful.
"I felt stable and comfortable throughout the activities because all the members were healthy and even the fans were able to be with us through music programs."
Before the interview ended, Nayeon also defined what makes her relationship with TWICE special, explaining:
"When I talk to the members, my mindset, goals, and thoughts about work are often similar to them.
I think the special thing about this relationship is that we can be both best friends but also be anything else like an older sister, a younger sister, and even a family."
SEVENTEEN Mingyu Graces Elle Korea Cover Along With TWICE Nayeon
Along with TWICE Nayeon, Mingyu of SEVENTEEN also showed off his model-like atmosphere as he graced as a double cover star of the October issue of the fashion magazine.
Mingyu, who leads K-pop's global popularity as a member of SEVENTEEN, delivered contrasting energy yet rocked Louis Vuitton's outfits in both photos.
In his interview, Mingyu opened up about SEVENTEEN's tour, album activities and his performance. He especially revealed that the photo shoot was held right after successfully finishing SEVENTEEN's world tour "BE THE SUN" in North America.
In regards to his experience, Mingyu said:
"It was the best performance. Compared to the 2019 tour three years ago, I felt that the number of local audiences increased. All the members really like the stage."
When asked about how he perceives various achievement SEVENTEEN is making, he confessed:
"I know that a team called SEVENTEEN is doing well, but I don't usually realize it. I feel it only the moment I hear the screams at the concert hall or on the stage."
Mingyu added:
"We decorated the last stage of the 'Asia Artist Awards' last year, and even though we had to play pre-recorded stage videos, so many junior singers applauded. I was thankful and proud. SEVENTEEN desires to go further."
