From BIGBANG to 2NE1 and more, these are the only groups who achieved "Perfect-All-Kill" (PAK) with two songs in the same year in history!
In the K-pop scene, Perfect-All-Kill (PAK) refers to ranking first place at nine domestic music sites and topping the iChart weekly/real-time chart. This means that when a song achieves a PAK, it means it snags the No. 1 spots on the domestic music sites: MelOn, Genie, Bugs, Flo, Vibe real-time charts, daily charts, weekly charts, and Top 100.
Surprisingly, there are a lot of K-pop groups who succeeded in getting a Perfect-All-Kill and most of the songs that achieved this became viral/hits in the music scene.
This is a huge achievement proving the impact of a certain group not only among K-pop fans but also mainstream music fans, that's why it's also a big deal that these four groups gained two consecutive PAKs in the same year, comeback after comeback!
Here are the Only K-pop Groups Who Attained 2 PAKs in the Same Year in History:
1. 2NE1
In 2011, "K-pop Queen" 2NE1 became the first-ever K-pop group, in general, to achieve a PAK, on top of being the first girl group to obtain this.
Following this, they also became the first K-pop group and a girl group to achieve PAK with two songs released in the same year.
In particular, they achieved this through their iconic songs, "Lonely" and "I AM THE BEST," both of which came from the quartet's self-titled second mini-album released on July 28, 2011.
2. BIGBANG
Following 2NE1, BIGBANG sat down as the first and only boy group to achieve two PAKs in the same year to date.
They created this history when the team dropped their single "Loser" from the first installment of their third studio album "MADE," named "M," in 2015, followed by "Let's not fall in love," a song from their fourth single album, "E."
3. TWICE
Despite being a rookie, TWICE flaunted their status as the new "Nation's Girl Group" after becoming the second girl group and third K-pop group to achieve PAKs with two songs released in the same year.
In April 2016, TWICE achieved their first PAK with the song "CHEER UP" from their EP, "Page Two."
In October of the same year, the nonet took home their second PAK with "TT," from their album, "Twicecoaster: Lane 1."
4. (G)I-DLE
After six years, (G)I-DLE set a new milestone as the third girl group to achieve PAK twice in the same year.
They made a comeback as a five-member group with "I NEVER DIE" in March, introducing the title song, "TOMBOY." The song became a hit, which eventually earned them a perfect all-kill.
On October 25, iChart announced that (G)I-DLE's "Nxde" took a PAK, which made them a group that recorded two perfect all-kill songs in the same year after TWICE.
