BTS Shares Heartfelt Message Amid 5th Anniversary of 'Love Myself' UNICEF Project

BTS reminds everyone to love themselves even more.

With the global influence and popularity of BTS, UNICEF tapped the boy group to collaborate with its campaign. For its part, it launched the "Love Myself" campaign in 2017 to promote safety and security for children across the globe and make the world a better place through music.

Five years after the campaign, the K-pop supergroup shared a new video to celebrate the new milestone.

BTS Marks 'Love Myself' Campaign's 5th Anniversary

On BTS' BANGTANTV official YouTube channel, the seven members appeared together to record the over two-minute video, titled, "BTS LOVE MYSELF Campaign 5th Anniversary Message."

RM, Jin, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, V, and Jungkook greeted their fans and reminded them of the true meaning of the campaign. The group's leader also acknowledged UNICEF's efforts in supporting them with the move.

"Over the past five years, the Love Myself campaign's message has permeated our lives like background music. When I look into the daily lives shared by ARMY, the massage of Love Myself seems to take big parts of their emotions."

Meanwhile, Jin compared "Love Myself" to background music playing at home, saying people might not notice it every day. However, he assured that the campaign always appears at the right time and place to offer everyone the courage to pass through the hardships in life.

Suga, Jimin, and J-Hope reminded everyone to love themselves and help one another in accomplishing their dreams.

V, on the other hand, said he believes loving oneself starts true love, while Jungkook told fans to take a look back at the progress they made so far.

In the end, RM asked fans to continue supporting the campaign to offer positive changes in people's lives.

As of August 2021, the "Love Myself" campaign already raised $3.4 million.

BTS Earns Gold Certification From RIAJ + Drops New Episode of 'Run BTS'

BTS recently hit another milestone after the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) released its latest batch of certifications. It followed the new certification system, which classifies 30 million streams as silver, 50 million streams as gold, and 100 million streams as platinum.

The boy group's Yet To Come officially garnered a gold certification after surpassing 50 million streams in Japan.

On Tuesday, it also released a special episode of its hit variety web series, "Run BTS." The nearly 40-minute episode features the seven members take turns in hosting their own segments.

J-Hope reviewed toys, V played a virtual golf and nearly hit a 300-meter drive, and RM hosted the "Ideal Type World Cup" game.
