Amid the rise of 4th-generation K-pop female groups like IVE, LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans, 3rd-gen leader TWICE showcased their unrelenting influence in the U.S.

On December 21, TWICE solidified their status as a top-tier K-pop girl group, with Korean media outlets certifying their popularity, especially in the U.S.

On this day, KBS report crowned TWICE as the most loved K-pop girl group this 2022 in the U.S., citing their strong presence in the music charts amidst the rise of 4th-generation groups.

Sports Kyunghyang also described the nonet as "Top Global Girl Group," emphasizing the performance they showed off this year by hitting its own highest in global major charts.

TWICE had a fruitful 2022, starting from "TWICE 4TH WORLD TOUR "III." The nine-member group also released two albums, including Nayeon's solo debut, and celebrated their 7th anniversary at home and abroad with their fans, ONCEs.

In a recent report of JYP Entertainment, the agency attested to TWICE's 2022 peak point that showed their unrivaled presence by writing the best record, which became more special as they walk into their eighth year.

The media added that TWICE once again raised their reputation as a "K-pop Representative Girl Group" by topping several charts in the U.S., the world's largest music market.

Spotify, the world's largest music platform, is called an indicator of the international popularity of singers and songs.

Among the songs of the K-pop girl group registered on Spotify in the U.S., local fans enjoyed TWICE's songs the most this year.

According to JYP Entertainment:

"TWICE's song has been played nearly 290 million times in the U.S. alone from January to the 15th of this month (December) of which the hit "Talk that Talk" released in August has already surpassed 100 million times."

The global cumulative streaming total of all music the group has registered on Spotify has set a milestone of more than 5.5 billion cases as well, showing off its unrivaled music power. This is not to mention that the group elevated their status this year with just a single album.

Their title track "Talk that Talk" from their first full-length comeback "BETWEEN 1&2" in 2022 ranked 49th on the Spotify Daily Top Song Global Chart on August 26, the day of its release, breaking its first top 50 and own best record, and making it the first top 100 on the US chart.

In addition, the release ranked 41st and 54th on the Global Weekly Album Chart and Song Chart (2022.08.26~2022.09.01), respectively.

TWICE was the only Korean girl group to be named in the "200 Artists" category on Billboard's year-end settlement chart earlier this month.
