On January 13, VIXX Ravi's controversy sparked when a group of illegal brokers was arrested on charges of corruption under the accusation of providing paid neurologist for some men – to fake medical records in order to avoid military duties during the military health assessment.

Among those who availed of the illegal service was said to be VIXX Ravi, after the broker described helping a famous rapper-idol spread online.

On January 19, KBS 2TV's "All Year Live" revealed more details about VIXX Ravi's accusation of violating the Military Service Act.

According to the news, the prosecution found that Ravi asked the broker called "Gu" for military service-related counseling.

It was then revealed that Ravi was introduced to a hospital and neurologist in Seoul through Gu and was diagnosed with epilepsy.

Through this, he was allegedly able to lower his military assessment to Grade 4 (non-active duty) rather than being an active duty soldier.

During the broadcast, it was also unveiled that Ravi's "violation of military enlistment laws" has been found out after broker Gu was arrested and the situation was unveiled through mobile phone forensics.

What will happen to VIXX Ravi if found guilty?

According to Article 86 of the Military Service Act, those who run away, hide their whereabouts, (intentionally) damage their bodies, or cheat to avoid or reduce military service obligations are to be sentenced to "more than one year and not more than five years in prison."

Additionally, he might re-enlist before or after serving jail time.

A representative lawyer explained:

"If you are found to have violated this law, you should undergo a physical examination again. You should serve again according to your (original) grade. Recently, even if you are sentenced to more than a year in prison for exemption from military service, you can serve again because the Enforcement Decree of the Military Service Act has been revised."

Before the news ended, the KBS production team revealed that they tried to Ravi's agency, GROOVL1N, but could not reach it because the phone was turned off.

The team visited the agency to personally hear their side but the agency said that they don't have any update yet.

Their latest response was when they stated:

"Since it is related to the duty of national defense, it seems reasonable to first find out the details and explain them in detail later, so we are currently grasping the info and will sincerely investigate any request."

As a result, public attention is focused on the additional position that Ravi will reveal in the future and the results of the prosecution's investigation.
