After stealing viewers' attention during her stint at "Girls Planet 999," Guinn Myah suddenly "disappeared" from K-pop fans' radar, and rarely had updates.
About more than a year after failing to debut as Kep1er, what's next for the idol trainee?
Guinn Myah in 2021 to 2022: 'Girls Planet 999,' Top Media Trainee
In 2021, American-Korean Guinn Myah entered the K-pop scene at the young age of 15 by joining Mnet's survival show, "Girls Planet 99," representing the agency, TOP Media.
Despite being the youngest trainee among Korean participants, Myah immediately built her own fandom thanks to her solid skills as well as her goofy and bubbly personality. Her visuals became the talk of the town as well, flaunting a unique beauty of a mixed-race trainee.
With her excellent abilities, Myah maintained her position in the program until the finale.
Unfortunately, she was behind two rankings among trainees after final votes from fans, ending at No. 11. Due to this, she failed to join the TOP9, which debuted as Kep1er members.
Following this, Myah reportedly returned to TOP Media and continued her trainee life. As she didn't open any social media platforms which are prohibited among trainees, fans were positive she was preparing for her debut.
At the time, she was supposedly going to debut with An Jeongmin, a former SM trainee who also entered Myah's agency.
However, 2022 came but there's still no update about TOP Media's new girl group. The launch became hazier when Jeongmin allegedly left the company.
In the same year, fans and netizens had a "Myah" drought and were only getting updates from the trainee's friends and mom.
According to her mother, Myah is working hard and is still a trainee at TOP Media. Her friends would also occasionally post photos with the idol.
On Twitter, a user who interacted with Myah's mother also hinted at her possible debut in 2023.
So far, Myah's last update in 2022 was when her co-"Girls Planet 999" trainee, Yeeun, uploaded Instagram stories with her in November and December.
Where Is Guinn Myah in 2023? Idol Trainee Rumored To Debut This Year
Although there's no official news about her, K-pop fans are claiming that the trainee will possibly debut this year.
On January 3, Myah became a hot topic on Twitter after it was mentioned in Korean web communities, such as DC Gallery, that she transferred agency and is now a trainee under Belift Lab. The rumor started when an ex-trainee from the same label mentioned that she and Myah have a good relationship.
With this, speculations arose that Myah will join her second survival program, which would be "I-Land 2," the female counterpart of the show which produced ENHYPEN.
In another rumor, some are expecting Guinn Myah to join tripleS, a multi-member global group whose group and sub-units will depend on the song's concept and fan votes.
But based on how TOP Media is keeping quiet about it, it is safe to assume that Guinn Myah is still working hard to debut under the company.
Fans are really hoping for official news soon!
