SM Entertainment's CEO Shares Photos With NCT Lucas + Idol Uploads Practice Video
The recent status of Lucas, who had been suspended due to controversy, was reported.
On February 1, SM Entertainment's CEO Lee Sung Soo, also known as Chris Lee, posted new photos on his Instagram. However, it attracted huge attention after fans recognized the person sitting beside him, who is none other than NCT Lucas!
In the photos, the two seemed to share a comfortable atmosphere as they sat side by side. The idol was smiling at the camera, with a warm look on his face.
Known songwriters and music producers, such as LDN noise and Ryan Jhun, commented on the post encouragingly, raising curiosity among K-pop fans.
On the same day, the "Come Back" singer also uploaded a practice video without context. Although his face wasn't properly seen due to the dark studio and filter, Lucas didn't fail to showcase his outstanding skills as the main dancer.
Is NCT Lucas Hinting at His Return? Here's How People Are Reacting
As soon as the pictures were unveiled, the post garnered more than 530k likes. The photos particularly earned admiration from NCTzens who saw the idol's whole face for the first time, since Lucas' hiatus in 2021.
The video has 2.14 million likes and 10M views as of writing, proving the number of fans waiting for his return to the music scene.
Lucas suspended his activities in 2021 due to controversy over his personal life. Internet user A, who claimed to be Lucas' ex-girlfriend, revealed Lucas' gaslighting and cheating on various women through online communities and SNS.
"A" claimed that Lucas had been dating Korean and Chinese female fans at the same time. In the meantime, she claimed that the "victims" were severely gaslighted and forced to pay for all their dating expenses. She even released Lucas' voice files and photos as evidence, saying he lost contact when "A" said she would take legal action against the idol.
In response, SM Entertainment and the idol released their apologies and announced Lucas' hiatus to give him ample time to do self-reflection.
After more than a year, speculation continues that he may be trying to return now to the music scene, especially after meeting with their agency's CEO and uploading the photos and clip.
The announcement that SuperM, the group to which he belongs aside from NCT and WayV, will return in April also strengthens the claims that he's set to end his long break.
Following speculations, netizens responded sharply, saying:
- "I guess you haven't left yet, huh."
- "I think you're really trying to go back."
- "I'll not support you if you join SuperM."
- "Don't even try to come back anymore."
Despite some negative comments, there are still a lot of supporters rooting for the idol. Ever since he stepped down from the spotlight, his fans have been waiting for the time he will finally join his members again.
As of now, there's no confirmation whether he will really make his comeback and work in the music scene again, but it is good to see NCT Lucas doing well!
