In online communities and SNS, netters and K-pop enthusiasts suggest to "banning" EXO Kai's new song, "Rover" among students– because it was super addictive!
On March 13, EXO Kai made his much-awaited solo return with his third mini album, "Rover." On the same day, he also dropped the MV of its title track with the same name, impressing the music scene with Kai's vibrant character transformation.
As of the 20th, the MV already gained 12 million views on YouTube and entered various charts both at home and abroad. Apart from Kai's impact on the charts, the solo artist also proved the quality and influence of his song, rising as a viral song among music fans.
In particular, the song is a rhythmical dance genre song that reinterprets Bulgarian artist Dara's "Mr. Rover" in his own color, featuring a heavy 808 base, marimba, and bell, as well as lyrics depicting Kai's "wild" hip charm with the story of "wanderer" who takes off his bound gaze and lives freely.
Fans can't move on with "Rover" earworm beat and sound also, not to mention its addictive repeating lyrics, that go:
"Mr. Rover, rover, rover // I'm coming over, over, over // Call me Rover, rover, rover // I'm coming over..."
In online communities, the majority of internet users agreed that the song and certain lyrics were "haunting" them wherever they go even when they sleep, suggesting that this track should join the list of K-pop songs "banned" among students, particularly those who will take the college entrance exam (CSAT).
