Following the shocking and saddening news of the passing of ASTRO Moonbin, various entertainment programs, channels, content and artists' schedules were postponed and canceled to mourn for the late idol.

Unfortunately, Mnet and CJ ENM delivered the news that the broadcast of its music show, "M Countdown" and idol survival program, "Boys Planet" will proceed as scheduled on April 20.

Despite this, they attested the usual program joined by various artists will be held calmer than normal episodes, and idols will also be asked to refrain from posting their photos from the show. In addition to this, the production team will also send a message of remembrance for the late idol.

The much-awaited finale of "Boys Planet" will also proceed normally, wherein the K-pop scene will finally meet the final 9 trainees who will make it in the debuting lineup. The last match of the 18 finalists will be held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, from 8:50 p.m. KST onwards.

An official said:

"After a long discussion on whether to proceed with the final live broadcast, we plan to broadcast it according to the scheduled schedule."

Following this, multiple K-pop fandoms and netters criticized Mnet for proceeding with the two shows, knowing that Moonbin's family, colleagues and various K-pop fandoms were grieving over his death– it is rather disrespectful.

In fact, some of the supporters of the 18 trainees themselves, especially the international fans, were the ones who suggested postponing the show because they will most likely not going to enjoy the show that well because of the late star.

Also, fans implied that they won't be able to cheer and congratulate the winners wholeheartedly, too, due to the saddening news.

An official in the music industry even explained:

"We are having a meeting because all the celebrities who were scheduled to hold the event today are also worried. I think we will know exactly when the results of the production team meeting come out."

After Mnet's position that "Boys Planet" will proceed as scheduled, netizens defend the channel and claimed that it wouldn't be possible for the organizers to cancel and postpone due to the venue where ticket-selling took place. It is expected that not only Koreans will attend the event but foreigners from around the world, thus, the more it should be continued.
