Although fans rejoice with the introduction of the new boy group ZB1, some convey their dissatisfaction about the result and finale of Mnet's survival show, "Boys Planet."
Mnet Announces 9 'Boys Planet' Trainees Who Will Debut in New Idol Group ZB1
On April 20, the lineup of the upcoming boy group created from Mnet's idol survival-program, "Boys Planet," has been decided!
During the last episode, the final nine members have been selected among 18 trainees and have been confirmed to be working as a project boy group, under the name, ZB1, which means ZEROBASEONE.
Based on the results, Zhang Hao, Sung Han Bin, Seok Matthew, Ricky, Park Gun Wook, Kim Tae Rae, Kim Gyuvin, Kim Ji Woong, and Han Yujin, (in order) were hailed as the TOP 9.
Due to this, they will debut as the official members of ZB1 and will work together for 2 years and a half as a team.

Following the announcement, viewers congratulated the debuting lineup without hashtag trends on Twitter and other social media platforms, in respect of family, friends, artists and fans mourning ASTRO Moonbin's death.
'Boys Planet' Viewers Disappointed For THESE 3 Reasons
Although fans are satisfied with the final lineup, some express that they are dismayed by the program's finale for various reasons.
First, some Korean fans raise their brows at the first-placer Zhang Hao, who will automatically be the center. The reason is that he's Chinese, and Koreans believe it would not feel right for a K-pop group. Some even emphasize that it's not "K-pop" anymore, but "C-pop."
People also point out that it's shocking Sung Hanbin didn't become the first place, despite sitting atop each elimination round prior to the finale.
- "Is it true that the Chinese got first place? Damn."
- "Why is Sung Hanbin not #1?"
- "A K-pop group whose center is Chinese?
- "I still can't believe that Sung Hanbin ranked second place."
Secondly, a lot of international fans are frustrated that among nine members, only 3 are global trainees. People believe that Jay and Keita are more deserving to debut in terms of idol skills.
Fans speculate that they could have debuted as well if Mnet didn't favor other trainees, and gave Jay and Keita enough screentime to showcase their charms.
Third and last, fans have mixed reactions to the group's name. They say it reminds them of WANNA ONE and its variety show, "Zero Base."
- "Why can't they give up on 'One'? WANNA ONE, IZ*ONE, X1, ZB1."
- "Isn't that WANNA ONE variety show's name?"
- "They can’t throw away WANNA ONE and use their variety show name Zero Base? Seriously."
