Join our Audacy Check In with XG

Excitedly approaching the date of their Head In The Clouds Festival performance this coming May, Cocona, Hinata, Harvey, Juria, Maya, Jurin and Chisa of J-Pop girl group, XG chat with Bru all about it and a whole lot more during an Audacy Check In.

"We've been preparing for our Heads In The Clouds performance... a lot of dance practices and vocal practices," Maya shared about what the girl group has been up to.

As they gear up for their first ever Live U.S. performance, Chisa revealed, "we discuss things every day as a group to make sure we can deliver a performance that best represents us. So I'm confident that we'll be able to put on a great show."

Speaking of, Bru did his journalistic duty of trying to get the group to spill some deets on what they have planned, whether it be new choreography or music. And while Maya was adamant about "no spoilers" she did offer up that XG was definitely planning "to change up some things" to make it "fun." Also adding, "we're definitely gonna wow you guys, so be prepared for that."

While currently XG only has Head In The Clouds on their U.S. show schedule, Maya shared the group is "definitely looking forward to visiting the U.S. more and performing in front of our ALPHAZ."

Jurin took the reigns when asked what is on the groups bucket list for the remainder of this year. Noting "to meet as many of our ALPHAZ fans as possible," and showcasing "more of our music and new XG style to everyone" definitely top the list.

Speaking of their ALPHAZ and XG style, Bru noted how the groups music videos "resonate so well with all your fans," asking them what they think it is about your videos that make them "so popular."

Juria jumped in to answer this one, using the visual for their recent release "SHOOTING STAR" as an example. "The music video... has this Neo-romantic mood and represents something that doesn't just focus on being cool or cute. It embodies XG's appeal and identity and it has a lot of meaning."

Aside from finding success as a group, XG went on to share just how important their friendships are. "We practiced together for five years before making our debut and I think the fact that we were all together made it possible," Jurin said. "We support each other and exchange good energy. I feel that having each other is what makes us and XG so great."

Also up for discussion, the 2000's R&B vibes of their track "RIGHT LEFT," and where the group draws inspiration from when it comes to their music, style and performances. Noting lately its been "female groups such as TLC and Destiny's Child." The group and Bru also talked about reaching major milestones like making it onto the Top 40 radio airplay chart, as well as who on the chart they'd be most excited to do a collab with.
