Viewers were particularly interested in Dara's relationship since she's among a few idols who haven't dated in public since debut.
Regarding this, the "Fire" singer opened up that at the time they debuted in 2NE1, she actually had a dating ban for five years.
"It was really hard. After my debut, all kinds of male celebrities dashes, so when CEO Yang heard the rumor they confiscated the cell phones of all four members."
However, it didn't stop her to date celebrities, saying:
"At that time, I was hit on by my seniors and juniors. I was 26 years old when I debuted so I think I was at the right age. My juniors called me 'noona' and flirt and my seniors are like, 'Other idols are young, but this friend is 26 years old.'
I dashed on both sides. I think I made a dash while saying, 'I can overcome it.' I've dated celebrities, but I wasn't involved in any scandal."
Regarding how she wasn't caught in any dating controversy, Dara explained why she was never seen with a boyfriend.
"I dated someone, but it was online. I felt sorry for my ex-boyfriend as well, I only met him once or twice in person."
Dara explained:
"I contacted him via text message. I got dumped because I didn't meet him, so it's a sad story because we really didn't meet face to face."
In fact, they tried to take a vacation during the holidays, but Dara confessed that she didn't dare to do it so she ended up not answering the phone all night, thinking that she was a celebrity.
