Jay Park Reveals Retirement Plan: 'It's official...'

In a recent broadcast, Jay Park once again talked about his retirement as a singer and this time, "It's official."

Jay Park Announces Retirement After Doing THESE

Former 2PM leader and singer-songwriter Jay Park carefully announced his retirement plan.

On June 2, Lee Young Ji's YouTube show, "My Alcohol Diary," uploaded a new episode featuring K-pop and K-hip hop icon Jay Park.

In the released video, Jay Park particularly appeared in the female rapper's program to promote his new single, "Candy," featuring Zion.T.

In the broadcast, the two continued to talk about the male singer's newly released song, how their friendship was built while doing Mnet's "Show Me The Money," as well as discussed Jay's upcoming album.

In particular, Young Ji mentioned Park's supposed comeback last year and how it was pushed back due to the hip-hop survival program they both participated in as contestant and producer, respectively.

While on the topic, Jay Park then surprised both Young Ji and viewers after he revealed his retirement plan.

He cautiously said:

"The album should have been released last year, but it was delayed because of 'Show Me the Money.' I'll release it next year and do my last concert tour, and then after that (peace out)."

Lee Young Ji who heard this was surprised by his statement and immediately gave him a chance to clarify it, saying:

"It sounds like blackmail to me. Retirement threat? It's a new type of threat, but you shouldn't blackmail with retirement. It's not even official."

However, Jay refuted it and added:

"It's official in my heart. I'll retire one day. Because when people say it's time (for me) to retire, rather than making up such thoughts, (I'll leave when everyone claps for me.)"

He implied that it's better to stop now while leaving people good memories about him, and added:

"Rather than hearing people say, 'Stop it now. Stop with your chest party, you're 50 years old now."

Jay Park Opens Up About Feeling 'Tired,' Growth and Blessings

Jay Park also hinted that he underwent various changes and growth through the years and felt like he already did a great job.

"When I wrote the song 'MOMMAE,' I have a different attitude from then to now and it's just, I'm so tired.

I'm a celebrity, right? People are always watching me and putting expectations on me. It's hard to keep trying hard under such pressure just to not lose that trust."

Park continued:

"I'm also a human, so I have limitations. I've been running for 13 years without rest and looking back. I haven't even talked to myself for doing great. I'm the one responsible for why I'm tired so I need to be rewarded for myself."

As Young Ji delve deeper into Jay's feelings of being tired, he answered:

I'm not scared to tell you that I'm tired. But, I do feel stress and pressure. To be honest, I may be just complaining about the blessing that I received, like, 'Oh, I'm getting so popular,' 'People love me so much.' That's why, even if it's exhausting both mentally and physically, I could handle all those things. I thought I was lucky. I try my best not to forget about my blessings."
