On June 16, ASTRO's agency Fantagio released an official statement announcing strong legal action against malicious posts and rumors regarding the late Moonbin.

Fantagio disclosed that legal procedures were already being taken against harmful content. The agency also warned that if rumours were to spread further, legal measures will also be implemented as well.

Fantagio also announced they will increase their monitoring for such posts, and there will be no hesitation in carrying out their legal procedures.

"Hello. This is Fantagio.

First of all, we would like to extend our gratitude to fans who love ASTRO. We originally aimed to go through with this discreetly since there are many fans who are concerned about our artist. However, we decided to announce a short statement to give an update about our intentions.

In our latest findings, harshly malicious posts have been discovered, which all went too far. This led us to decide that we could no longer stay idle and watch as it unfolds.

Hence, legal action is already under process and that if similar incidents should happen again, we will respond with no reluctance or leniency.

Regarding our monitoring for these posts, the process will be further amplified, and we will continuously respond to these malicious contents with legal action. We would like to remind everyone once again that no leniency will be present in carrying out our legal responses.

Earlier on June 13, Fantagio posted an announcement on ASTRO's official fan café containing a letter from Moonbin's mother.

In her letter, Moonbin's mother first thanked everyone who commemorated her son. She then addressed the topic at hand, sharing her thoughts regarding the false rumors and malicious posts circulating online.

She also hoped that Moonbin won't become a fodder for gossip and requested that no rumors or unconfirmed claims will be made in the future.

"The reason for writing this is because even though everyone remembers and misses my son, there are some indiscriminate rumors revolving around minority communities."

"As a mother, it's truly difficult to see these rumors, and I'm concerned for those who will be hurt by these false claims, including the fans who miss my son."

"I sincerely request not to start any more unconfirmed facts or rumors about my son, since I don't want him to become a fodder for gossip. I hope the fans who all Bin loved don't go on heartbroken."
