"My name was mentioned in the group chat incident. At that time, I was filming a drama in Japan. Before, I went to film in Germany with one of the guys embroiled in the controversy, and there was a separate chatroom with everyone who was on that show.
There was nothing that would be problematic in that chat room, but then the articles were released as if I was part of that (group chat incident). It wasn't distorted information, but it was a completely incorrect report. I had a hard time back then."
Kangin clarified his innocence, but people overlooked the truth.
Unfounded rumors tarnished his reputation. To protect the group, Kangin decided to leave.

"I didn't have any financial income during that time. If I said I didn't have much trouble living, people might misunderstand and think, 'How much money did you make?' But I didn't have anywhere to spend.
I'm not someone who lives a life of luxury or extravagance. People often assume that celebrities don't have to worry about money, but it's not always the case. I didn't have any specific expenses to allocate my funds to."
He explained the situation and added some conversations.
"They asked me, 'When will your contract end?' I replied, 'What will happen then?' They responded, 'You should sign a contract.' I was surprised and asked, 'Really?' They assured me, 'Yes, let's do it,' so I agreed. I felt extremely grateful for the opportunity. People have been inquiring, 'Are you still with SM?'"
Added to the good relationship they have was the greetings of SM Entertainment on Kangin's birth anniversary in January.
