'Red Velvet Deserves Better': ReVeluvs Demand Proper Treatment to Group With Protest Trucks

In the protest trucks parked in front of SM Entertainment, ReVeluvs expressed their dismay at the company for its "mistreatment" to Red Velvet, such as having only 2 full-length albums in 10 years.

ReVeluvs Send Protest Trucks to SM Entertainment + Call Out Agency's 'Mistreatment' to Red Velvet

On July 17, Red Velvet's fandom ReVeluvs sent protest trucks in front of SM Entertainment building, demanding better treatment for the group from its agency.

The account Red Velvet's L.V UP, a DC Inside minor gallery on Twitter, posted an article, stating:

"Day 1 of protest truck for Red Velvet's better treatment. The protest truck has arrived at SM."

Along with the tweet were photos showing the demonstration truck parked in front of SM Entertainment's building. It is expected that they operate until the end of the week, with organizers saying that they will hold the protest truck until the fundraising amount is exhausted.

The project was first announced on July 5, wherein the Korean account, together with international ReVeluvs, raised an amount to be used for protest trucks. The trucks will contain the call of the fandom to SM to improve the treatment of Red Velvet.

Meanwhile, the fandom also revealed the nine things that they demand from the agency to give to the quintet, including the release of their 3rd full-length album.

The fandom especially expressed its frustration that Red Velvet is approaching its 10th debut anniversary but they only released two regular albums so far.

  • "It's been 10 years since your debut, and you still have your second full-length album?"
  • "Follow the 3rd full-length album plan."

Unfortunately, based on the newly-released report submitted by Hanhwa for the fourth quarter of 2023, both the tour and full album plans for Red Velvet are still "undecided."

Along with this, fans are also asking for the production of Red Velvet's own content, securing an ample number of album pre-orders, releasing the new version of the group's lightsticks, increasing various promotions, improving official account management, holding a recruiting and paid official fan clubs in Japan.

The fandom also calls for SM to address overseas tour problems, such as its tour size, passive promotion of concert halls and urgent ticketing schedules as well as strengthening the protection of its artists from malicious attacks.
