LE SSERAFIM Sakura's Chinese Fans To Send Protest Trucks To HYBE, Demand Better Treatment to Idol

On July 26, a LE SSERAFIM Sakura fan posted an announcement on Twitter, signaling a demonstration through protest trucks against HYBE.

Chinese fans said:

"We know that conducting protest trucks does not necessarily receive a response, but I chose this to speak out for consumers and justice."

Regarding the reason they decided to proceed with the rally, the group explained:

"Miyawaki Sakura fans have always fully supported LE SSERAFIM for more than a year since their debut, but we must also protect their rights and firmly refuse member's suppression of HYBE/SOURCE and delete comments without mercy."

They particularly emphasized the unfair treatment of Sakura, and pointed out:

"They've treated Sakura unfairly for a long time. Suppressing only one member is the company's 'propaganda strategy. Drive out potential passing fans. Not only does it hurt fans' feelings and purchasing power, but it is also likely to compete in fierce girl group competition in the future.

It loses its competitiveness. The development and success of the group depends on the members. The five members of LE SSERAFIM are indispensable."

As a result, fans highlighted the changes that they want to see and get, saying:

"Stop restricting Sakura's personal schedule, stop making repeated PR mistakes, improve makeup, and stop discrimination against her. Sakura's popularity and power deserve fair and just treatment."

Attention is focused on how Source Music and HYBE will cope with this.

The outdoor rally in front of the HYBE office building is said to run from July 28 to August 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. KST.

FEARNOTs Raise Brows After Knowing Sakura's Chinese Fans' Protest Truck Plan

Following the announcement, numerous fans of Sakura showed strong support, and international fans joined the movement by using the tagline, "사쿠라에게 합당한 대우를 해 주세요" (PLEASE TREAT SAKURA FAIRLY).

However, after the news reached Korean FEARNOTs (LE SSERAFIM fandom), they expressed their strong disapproval of it, especially questioning the reason why it should be conducted on the aforementioned dates.

In particular, August 1 is member Kim Chaewon's birthday and Korean fans pointed out how it would spoil the mood, especially since the member would most likely do a birthday live broadcast on that day.

To Sakura's fans' defense, FEARNOTs can still celebrate it as the truck will quietly stay in front of the building.

Trucks are only available on working days and companies do not work on weekends. That's why 2 events would occur concurrently.

Twitter Error

There are also fans who commented that the reasons are laughable, claiming that Sakura is not being mistreated and is actually being pushed, highlighting that the member also got her solo web show.

Some of the various comments are:

• "Honestly I don't even know if it's true that Sakura isn't getting pushed. She has her own content and she also appeared on radio a lot."
• "From now on, it'll be many entities that trying to question this move. Keep strong Sakura stans."
• "Sakura deserves better."
