This summer, numerous girl groups are once again fighting for the title, "Summer Queen." But for 2nd-gen K-pop fans, the group SISTAR will always be the original and GOAT!
Six years after disbanding, where are they now in 2023?
SISTAR 2010 to 2017: Debut, 'Summer Queen,' Disbandment
In 2010, the second-gen girl group SISTAR debuted as a quartet, comprised of Hyolyn, Bora, Soyou and Dasom, under the agency Starship Entertainment.
Following their debut, they received decent success as rookies and it took only a few years until their popularity skyrocketed thanks to their bops, "So Cool," "Shake It," "Loving U," "Touch My Body," "Give it to me," "I Like That" and more, which were all released in the summer season.
As the group continued to dominate the domestic and international music charts every summer, SISTAR was given the moniker "Summer Queen."
Where Is SISTAR in 2023? Members' Status After Disbandment
Unfortunately, the group didn't overcome the "7-Year Curse" and they officially disbanded in 2017 after seven years to focus on their respective solo careers.
Although it has been six years, whenever summer is coming, fans wish they will to reunite as the OG "Summer Queen" SISTAR.
But where are the members now? Is it still possible for the group to have a comeback?

Starting with Soyou, the vocalist actually returned as a "Summer Queen" along with co-member Bora through her second mini-album, "Summer Recipe," on July 26.
In fact, in the title track, "ALOHA" (feat. Bora), the star revealed that she paid homage to the group by incorporating some of their iconic dance steps.
SISTAR also separately joined Soyou's dance challenge to support their co-member, showing undying loyalty.
HYOLYN
Meanwhile, Hyolyn, the group's main vocalist, recently established a one-man agency, BRID3, the first one to do some after the group parted ways.
There were concerns as it was not common for musicians from idol groups to establish a one-man agency, but Hyolyn proved her influence after successfully managing her activities.
She recently released a new song "This Love" and appeared on Mnet's audition program "Queendom 2."
BORA
As for Bora, the group's main rapper and dancer after disbandment continued her activities as an actress and singer.
As of 2023, Yoon Bora showed her focus on her acting career, joining numerous dramas, such as "Pale Moon," "Dr. Romantic 3," and "Celebrity."
DASOM
Along with Bora, Dasom also focuses on her career as a full-fledged actress.
In 2017, she won the SBS Acting Award for Best Female New Actress thanks to her excellent portrayal of Yang Dalhee in the drama, "Band of Sisters."
Her latest acting project was with "Kokdu: Season of Deity," which ended in March.
