BTS ARMY Take a Stand Against 'Jamboree Concert' Disrespect —Trending Worldwide!

On August 8th, the BTS Gallery, a prominent voice representing the BTS fandom, issued a strong statement in response to the ongoing controversy surrounding the "Jamboree K-pop Concert." The gallery expressed their firm rejection of what they perceive as an "anti-democracy" push, compelling BTS to participate in the event to revive the Republic of Korea's national prestige after the 'Jamboree incident.

BTS Gallery Criticizes Assemblyman's Alleged Pressure

While the BTS Gallery acknowledged the importance of BTS exerting cultural influence and showcasing Korea's dynamism and creativity, they pointed out a critical distinction. While Corporal Kim Seokjin (Jin) and Private Jung Hoseok (J-Hope) are currently members of the Ministry of National Defense, the other BTS members are civilians and should not be under the jurisdiction of the ministry.

Netizens' comments:

  • "Around one year ago, President Yoon's transition team got on the wrong side of Armys for trying to have BTS perform at his inauguration ceremony which ended up not happening"
  • "Aside from all the OBVIOUS issues around this... how the hell would BTS put together something that would match their standards in less then 3 days. Such disrespect and misunderstanding of their craft."
  • "what the heck.. why can't they ask other active groups??"
  • "As far as I know there are plenty of other k pop groups! Why then it's always BTS they want?"
  • "Politicians suck no matter what country they are in"

Emphasizing the need for BTS to have full autonomy over their decisions, the gallery criticized Assemblyman Sung Il Jong's actions, alleging that he pressured the Ministry of National Defense using his status as a member of the National Assembly. They argued that such conduct runs counter to the spirit and purpose of the Jamboree.

Safety on stage was also a significant concern raised by the BTS Gallery. With the urgent schedule and lack of prior discussion, BTS members faced considerable mental burden while preparing for the event. The absence of verification regarding the preparation and insufficient time for thorough stage checks in case of emergencies led fans to express their concerns and grievances.

A Key Voice in the Ongoing Discourse

In light of these issues, the BTS Gallery adamantly opposed BTS being coerced into participating in the "Jamboree K-pop Concert" in line with the government's demands. They saw this as a step backward for democracy and an abuse of governmental authority.

The situation surrounding the "Jamboree K-pop Concert" has been fraught with challenges. With the "2023 World Scout Jamboree" facing setbacks and the subsidiary event "K-pop Super Live" experiencing difficulties, the concert had to be postponed from its original date and moved to a different venue multiple times. As a result, the original performers were unable to appear, prompting sudden requests for popular idols, including BTS, NewJeans, and Seventeen, to take part.

Meanwhile, BTS' Jungkook's surprise appearance at SUGA's concert will forever be remembered as an extraordinary moment in K-pop history.
