Multi-talented Instrument Playing Kpop Idols

They can dance, they can sing, they can make you laugh, but how many of them can jam out hard on a musical instrument? The answer? Not many. Today we're going to take a look at those idols who have talent beyond the microphone and dance floor.

Solo singer IU is known for her pretty girly ways, sweet voice, and her skills on the guitar. She often releases acoustic covers of popular K-pop songs such as SHINee's "Juliette," SNSD's "Gee," and Super Junior's "Sorry, Sorry." Singer-songwriter, Juniel, who is good friends with IU, had this to say about helping IU discover her love for the stringed instrument:

Juniel stated, “Whenever I met IU I always had a guitar slung on my back. IU showed interest every time and I suggested that she learn how to play. I heard that IU later asked her agency to learn the guitar.”

IU is also in the midst of learning how to perfect the electric guitar. Get em girl!

Solo talented singer Younha began playing the piano at the tender age of 5. The gorgeous 26-year-old went through as many as 20 auditions until she landed a record deal. She had the talent and the skills, but many believed she didn't encompass the physical beauty to carry herself as a star. Despite the trials, Younha soon became a huge star in both Japan and Korea. No matter what direction or style Younha releases, she never forgets to go back to her roots as a piano rock performer.

S.M. Entertainment's Henry Lau is a gifted piano player. He recently showed his skills on the piano in his debut solo single, "Trapped." In addition to being a pro on the keys, Henry is also a master on the violin and guitar. The Chinese-Canadian musical triple threat learned to play the piano at the age of 5 and the violin at age 6. His mother was the driving force behind mastering and honing in his skills and so fans of the star have her to thank for blessing us with his talent. To add onto his already impressive resume, Henry won the Canadian Royal Conservatory of Music Regional Gold Medal for Level 10 Violin. He had plans to go pro, but was snatched up and recruited to become an idol star for S.M. Entertainment. Having Henry on their team, might be the smartest move S.M. has ever made.

Big Bang's Taeyang and JYJ's Xiah Junsu are more than just sex symbols and dancing machines. The idol stars are also smooth piano players and both showed their skills in piano-battle performance against each other-the results were perfect.
