On September 22, Renta, one of TO1's talents, took to Instagram to announce his departure, marking the fifth member to leave the group in the past 24 months.

The group underwent its first lineup change in April 2020 when Chihoon left the group.
Some expressed their heartbreak, while others questioned the future of the group. Criticisms were directed at the management company, WakeOne, for not providing a statement regarding Renta's departure.
