Amid VIPs' excitement about BIGBANG Daesung's return to a terrestrial show after 12 years, some raised their brows against the news for THESE 2 reasons.
BIGBANG Daesung To Reunite With Yoo Jae Suk After 13 Years in 'How Do You Play?'
On October 16, netizens and K-pop enthusiasts, especially VIPs (BIGBANG fandom), rejoiced after Daesung announced the resumption of his idol activities!
On this day, various media outlets reported on Daesung's appearance on the MBC entertainment program, "Hangout With Yoo," which will be aired on October 21.
Earlier on the 14th of this month, Yoo Jae Suk of JS Entertainment teased that their next music project will be introducing a one-top vocalist, and continued to describe him as a "big fish" that is perfect in terms of entertainment, singing, and dancing.
The expectation is high for what kind of fresh fun will the K-pop icon bring to the JS Entertainment music project as its acting vocalist.
Attention is also focused on Daesung's first appearance on a terrestrial entertainment program for the first time in 12 years, since SBS's "Night After Night."
In addition to this, VIPs and fans are also anticipating Daesung's reunion with Yoo Jae Suk after 13 years, whom he shared a "Dumb and Dumber" chemistry with during SBS's show, "Family Outing" (2008-2010).
Netizens Raise Brows About BIGBANG Daesung's Return, Reunion With Yoo Jae Suk
Following the news, there are a lot of netizens and avid viewers of "Hangout With Yoo" who expressed negative sentiments, for THESE two reasons.
Firstly, it is widely known that "Hangout With You," aside from being hosted by "Nation's MC" Yoo Jae Suk, was loved due to its unique concept of Yoo himself using different alters and trying to take on jobs that he has never tried before.
Later on, it created a sensation on the music charts by presenting music projects several times, including Ssak 3, Refund Sisters, MSG Wannabe, WSG Wannabe and Juju Secret.
However, unlike the first three groups, the succeeding teams have been earning lukewarm responses, thus, viewers are hoping the show to refrain from creating a music project for now and return to its original concept.
- "PD has no sense."
- "This is not it."
- "Is this a music show or entertainment show?"
- "Another music project?"
The second reason was due to some viewers refused to watch the show due to Daesung's appearance.
In May 2011, the male idol particularly stopped appearing on national television after being involved in a car accident. He hit a motorcyclist lying on the street and bumped into a taxi in front of him. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.
In August of the same year, Daesung was dismissed from the case due to insufficient evidence proving that the motorcyclist died when he hit him and stated that it was hard to rule out the possibility that he was already dead after crashing in a streetlamp due to drunkness, minutes before the idol's accident.
However, some viewers still have frustration with Daesung's image, leaving comments such as:
- "There are so many celebrities, why bother getting him?"
- "I felt embarrassed. Can you just quietly leave with the money that you earned?"
- "BIGBANG is a bunch of criminals, I don't get why people keep on supporting them."
- "Only Taeyang should be allowed to come out on TV among BIGBANG members."
- "Daesung? That guy who killed a man for speeding and was caught having prostitute establishments? Hangout With You can do better than this."
