In the post, the author posted a photo of NingNing with visible armpit fats and said:
"(She has) too much armpit fats. I think she needs to lose some weight."
Following the writing, some netizens agreed and joined the OP to body-shame NingNing, saying:
- "She's a shoulder thug."
- "Although she was very popular when she debuted, she was the type of person who would be in big trouble if she gained weight."
However, MYs immediately jumped to defend aespa's youngest member and emphasized how ignorant the author of the post was.
In particular, the fandom pointed out that all people have different body types so as NingNing. Fans also implied that armpit fats are totally normal and said that NingNing's weight is no one's business.
Some of the comments are:
"It's not that she gained weight, but it's her body type. Look at her photo with Winter below. They both have the same thickness of their thighs, right?"
- "It's not that her upper body is fat, but her lower body is just thinner that she looks bloated. When I watched their behind-the-scenes video, she was wearing bell-bottom style jeans with a top, and she looked very pretty and slim."
- "And again, you start evaluating female idols' bodies without even knowing the topic, you pann girl?"
- "I feel even more sick of your persistence to pick on armpit fats."
