Amid the opening of the fifth-gen K-pop era, the 4 major companies HYBE, SM, JYP, and YG herald the debut of rookie groups who are expected to dominate in 2024!
The new groups and artists listed below are set to enter the music scene after the companies reported on their upcoming launch next year!
HYBE Rookie Debut Lineup 2024: Pledis New Boy Group, Dream Academy, I'LL-IT
Starting with HYBE, the K-pop company is planning to debut three rookie groups in total.
In the first quarter, its subsidiary Pledis Entertainment will introduce its first boy group in 9 years after creating SEVENTEEN.
BE:LIFT Lab will also launch I'LL-LIT, the girl group created through JTBC's "R U Next?".
The group is comprised of Yunah, Minju, Moka, Youngseo, Wonhee, and Iroha, and will debut as a six-member team.
In the second quarter, HYBE, in partnership with Geffen Records, will debut a U.S.-based global girl group formed through the survival show, "The Debut: Dream Academy."
SM Entertainment to Debut Rookies in 2024: NCT Tokyo, SMNGG, Naevis
As for SM, the label is also set to debut two new groups under its new system, "SM 3.0," in the first half of 2024.
The first one will be NCT Tokyo, the last sub-unit of the global boy group NCT and will be based in Japan. Formed through the show, "LASTART," the six-member team is rumored to be named NCT Wish.

Following aespa, new girl group SMNGG will be launched after four years.
According to various sources, the group will have eight members, which were initially seen at the SM trainees' performance showcase in March.
Lastly, naevis, an AI-powered idol originally seen as a character in aespa's worldview, will debut as a soloist in the second half.
JYP Entertainment Debut Lineup 2024: Project C, VCHA, Nizi Project, LOUD
In 2024, JYP is planning to debut three boy groups and 1 girl group.
In the first quarter, fans can anticipate the official release of the boy group Project C in China, which members were initially introduced through Chinese web dramas.
VCHA, a US-based global girl group born through the reality survival show, "A2K" will have its debut in 2024 as well. In September, the six-member group released its pre-debut single, "SeVit (New Light)."

Aside from China and the US, JYP will also push K-pop in Japan with its soon-to-debut boy group which will be created through "Nizi Project Season 2." They will conduct the project in collaboration with Sony Music Japan.
Lastly, the boy group selected by JYP from the audition program, "LOUD" will finally enter the Korean music scene in the 2nd quarter.
YG Entertainment to Debut New Girl Group in 2023, Boy Group in 2025
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment will be the forerunner among the companies as it is set to debut its new girl group, BABYMONSTER in the fourth quarter of 2023.
On November 27, BAEMON will finally debut, the first girl group of YG after seven years since BLACKPINK. The team will have seven members including Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Haram, Rora, and Chiquita, a multinational group from Korea, Japan and Thailand.
In the 2nd half of 2025, YG is also planning to create a Thailand-based group. In preparation, the label built YG"MM, a joint venture between GMM Grammy and YG in 2021.
