GOT7 BamBam Drops Jaw-Dropping Revelation About 2014 Pairing with Sujeong — 'At the time, I was...'

In the latest and final episode of BamHouse, GOT7's BamBam takes a trip down memory lane with Red Velvet's Wendy and Seulgi, fellow idols who made their debut in 2014. The trio reminisces about their rookie days, shedding light on their first-year collaboration stage at SBS Gayo Daejun where Lovelyz, GOT7, Winner, and Red Velvet joined forces to perform "Moves Like Jagger."

However, as the conversation delves into the past, BamBam reveals a surprising and vulnerable moment from his early career. He confesses that the collaboration stage, particularly the pair dance with Lovelyz's Sujeong, stands out as the "most embarrassing" moment of his career.

BamBam's Height Insecurity: A Candid Admission

During the discussion, BamBam discloses that his embarrassment was not directed towards Sujeong but rather stemmed from his insecurity about his height. As the only male idol shorter than his partner, he recalls feeling self-conscious about the height difference.

"At the time, I was partnered with Sujeong from Lovelyz. She was a little taller than me. So I was super embarrassed. Everyone else's height differences were good. [I wondered] 'Why did they pair me with a tall person?'" BamBam candidly shares.

While the cameras may not have zoomed in on the height difference between BamBam and Sujeong during the performance, the artist emphasizes the impact it had on his confidence at the time.

Growth, Both Personal and Physical

BamBam reflects on his growth, both as an individual and in stature. He acknowledges that, at the age of 17 when he debuted in 2014, he was "so short back then." Sujeong, reported to be around 168 cm (5'5") tall, stood taller than BamBam, whose reported height at the time was 170 cm (5'6").

In a surprising revelation, BamBam credits his increased height, now standing at around 178 cm (5'8"), to the effects of alcohol. "I grew after I started drinking. I learned how to drink after 20 years old," he shares, adding a lighthearted twist to the interview.

The candid admission from BamBam provides fans with a unique insight into the challenges and insecurities faced by idols, even as they navigate the spotlight and their personal growth in the competitive K-Pop industry.
