BLACKPINK Members Not to Renew Individual Contracts for Solo Activities Under YG Entertainment
On December 29, YG Entertainment released an official announcement, declaring that BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa have decided not to renew their individual contracts which oversee their solo activities with the agency.
"I'm so thankful for all the love I've received, and I'm also excited about the future since I will start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA (ODD ATELIER)."
BLINKs Express Enthusiasm Over BLACKPINK's Decision Not to Renew Individual Contracts with YG
On X (Twitter), BLINKs voiced out their joy upon learning that BLACKPINK had dropped their solo contract renewals in YG.
They claimed that since BLACKPINK had no solo contracts under YG anymore, the company will have to prioritize BLACKPINK's activities and music as a group, and that the members would have full control of their solo content. Here's how they reacted:
no solo contracts means YG won't be profiting off of the pinks' solo music/activities, so they'll solely have to depend on the group's comeback for money... oh we're about to be fed SO much with BLACKPINK in 2024 omg pic.twitter.com/2m0esrkAkG
