BLACKPINK Jisoo To Reportedly Start Anew as Soloist Under Older Brother's Company

Amid curiosity about BLACKPINK's "next move" regarding their solo activities, Jisoo will reportedly hold his brother's hand and start anew under the family management system.

On January 2, the Korean media outlet X-Sports News released an exclusive report saying that BLACKPINK Jisoo will have her new nest under Biomom, an infant & toddler health and functional food brand, led by her older brother.

As a response, the company briefly gave its official position.

In particular, the article stated that although Biomom is a children's food company founded in 2015, it has shown its desire to expand its business in the entertainment field.

The business plan started by announcing the recruitment of "BLISSOO" career employees with a new business expansion concept.

Under BLISSOO, Jisoo will continue her solo endeavors and it is expected that the label will manage the entertainment industry in general for the idol, starting by hiring video content managers and experienced staff in charge of artist security.

In the job posting, BLISSOO expressed its willingness to expand the entertainment business by posting Jisoo's photo as well and wrote:

"Meeting of artists and startups that no company can easily experience. With the growth of artists, we are rapidly expanding our entertainment business at home and abroad so that they can be loved by K-pop fans."

In light of this news, Biomom quickly drew the line, saying:

"It is ambiguous to define our relationship with Blissoo. We don't even know the CEO's family relationship."

BLACKPINK Members' Solo Plans After Signing Group Contracts Only With YG Entertainment

In December 2023, BLACKPINK's label YG Entertainment announced that the group signed a contract renewing their group activities, but additional contracts for their solo activities failed.

As a result, the expectations are high regarding the four members' careers as solo artists moving forward this 2024.

Jennie was the first member to announce her plan, revealing that she launched a one-man company, ODD ATELIER (OA), and is being co-managed by her mother.

As for Jisoo, there has been talk that she will also launch her own company, but based on reports, Jisoo, who shares a close relationship with her brother is expected to continue her career steps under a family management system.

Regarding Rosé and Lisa, they are yet to announce their plans.

Despite being scattered in various companies, YG Entertainment attested to K-pop fans especially BLINKs (fandom) that it would not spare any support for BLACKPINK's new album release and world tour in 2024.

However, it is expected that this will greatly affect YG's status in the K-pop scene in the process as BLACKPINK is known to be the core of their company. In fact, its stock price fell on the trading day immediately after the announcement due to concerns about a sales gap due to the failure to renew individual activity contracts.
