Is RIIZE 'Love 119' MV Too Similar to NewJeans 'Ditto'?
Following the release of RIIZE's "Love 119" music video, a post was made to a South Korean community forum titled, "Isn't RIIZE's 'Love 119' MV similar to Ditto?'. The post contained several screenshots of the two music videos to show scenes that looked similar.
In the music video for "Ditto," there were several scenes of the girls dancing in a school gymnasium. There are also such scenes in RIIZE's music video.
There are also several scenes that have similar scenery, such as showing off the night view of Seoul. Overall, all scenes featured a Y2K vibe that people deemed too similar to one another.

Both music videos also made use of corridors for dramatic effect.
There were also several scenes that featured the members in snow, which appears in NewJeans' "Ditto" music video as well.

Some scenes all showed RIIZE biking together, which is another scene found in NewJeans' music video.
They also made use of old-school TVs to tie in the vintage aesthetic.
Additionally, for RIIZE's world, SM Entertainment created a fictional character called Boo Heejoo. Many believed this name was too similar to Ban Heesoo, a fictional character created for NewJeans' worldview.
Korean Internet Users React to RIIZE's 'Love 119' MV's Similarities to NewJeans' 'Ditto'
After the post was made, people were shocked at how similar the two music videos were. Many joked that the music video must have been made while watching NewJeans' "Ditto" music video due to the likeness.
Others slammed SM Entertainment, as they have been caught in plagiarism scandals in the past. During aespa's early debut days, the label received backlash for copying the concept of a famous photographer.
Some comments read:
- "I feel like people will try to say that NewJeans' fans are making a big deal out of nothing, but can you look at these and claim they aren't similar?"
- "I wonder how SM fans who always accuse other teams of plagiarism will react to this?"
