On January 8, 2024, Bambam took to Twitter to share a cryptic tweet with his fans. In the end, he ultimately spoiled when the group would make a comeback.

GOT7's Last Comeback & Musical Release

GOT7's last musical release was their self-titled extended play, "Got7." The album was released on May 23, 2022, under Warner Music Korea, marking their first album since their exit from JYP Entertainment in 2021.

In February 2023, GOT7 released the song "Encore" as a pre-release. The album's lead single, "Nanana," was produced by leader Jay B. The song was selected as the title track because, during their career, the music where they shone the most on stage was produced by their leader. With that, they felt they could show their true colors with his music.

At the time, the album was conceived via video calls, FaceTime, emails, messages, and online meetings due to Jackson moving back to China and Mark moving to the United States.
