THIS Idol Reacts to Hate He Received for Revealing Dating News After IU-Lee Jong Suk

In a broadcast, this K-pop idol recalled being humiliated after making his relationship public, just a day after IU and Lee Jong Suk confirmed they're dating.

On January 16, the latest episode of SBS' "Dolsing Fourmen" aired, featuring Super Junior Shindong, comedian Lee Guk Joo, and online content creator Na Sun Uk as the guests.

On this day, MC Lee Sang Min introduced Shindong as the main character of the first dating rumor in 2023. However, the K-pop icon opened up on his feelings after his dating news broke just right after popular couple, IU and Lee Jong Suk and clarified marriage speculations involving him.

Hearing Sangmin's introduction, Shindong said:

"Aren't there couples who are announced on January 1st every year? In 2022, (IU & Lee Jong Suk) their romantic relationship was unintentionally revealed on December 31. Around the same time, my dating rumor came out on January 1."

At the time, IU and actor Lee Jong Suk's relationship was well-received by the fans, with people pouring them endless congratulatory messages and cheers.

However, Shindong revealed that he didn't experience this. Instead, he received hateful and humiliating comments.

"Comments were saying, 'No one's interested,' and, 'There's no reason to reveal your relationship on January 1st,' so I was so embarrassed."

In 2023, Shindong publicly announced his relationship with a non-celebrity girlfriend, and one of the reasons his dating news was not well-received was due to his controversial marriage interview in the past.

"More than that, it became an issue in the past when I used to talk about my public relationship in 'Strong Heart' before."

In 2010, Shindong publicly announced that he got engaged to his girlfriend, but in 2014, it actually fell through. Due to this, he said:

"This is why many people usually comment on my relationship articles with questions like, 'Aren't you married?' 'Did you get a divorce and remarried?' 'Is this an affair?' Even my girlfriend's parents misunderstood that I was already married."

However, Shindong denied the rumor that he was neither getting married nor planning to, as of now.

How Super Junior Shindong Avoids Relationship Rumors

As the broadcast continued, Lee Sang Min then asked for tips on how K-pop idols would disguise themselves to avoid dating rumors.

Seo Jang Hoon joked:

"It's impossible for Shindong to disguise himself."

As a response, the Super Junior member agreed and revealed that rather than himself, he would make his girlfriend disguise herself.

"I made my girlfriend do the disguise. When I was young, the most common trick I used was to make her pretend to be a stylist. She was always carrying a big bag, but I should never carry one. When we walk, we have to walk away from each other. And because I walk around so confidently, there are no suspicions."

Seo Jang Hoon drew laughter when he replied:

"Super Junior is an idol, so they say it as a disguise. But for us, no matter who we go around, people who pass by arent's interested."
