ZEROBASEONE Sung Hanbin Garners Backlash From Taeyeon & Baekhyun Fans — Here's Why

ZEROBASEONE is being criticized by fans of Taeyeon and Baekhyun following a recent live stream. Keep on reading to learn what happened.

ZEROBASEONE Sung Hanbin Draws Flak From Taeyeon and Baekhyun Fans

In early February 2024, ZEROBASEONE member Sung Hanbin held a live stream. During the stream, the male idol performed a cover of Girls' Generation member Taeyeon's most recent comeback, "To.X."

However, instead of using the original song by Taeyeon as the background for his cover, Sung Hanbin used an "AI cover" of the song "To.X," with Baekhyun from EXO singing it.

This upset both Baekhyun and Taeyeon's fans, with many criticizing Sung Hanbin for this choice.

While using an AI cover as the instrumental instead of the original artist's version might not usually cause immense backlash, there is a reason why many fans are upset.

Taeyeon's song "To.X" is about moving on from an ex-lover, and Taeyeon and Baekhyun used to date. Therefore, using Baekhyun's AI cover is considered highly insensitive for both the artists and their fans.

Sung Hanbin's choice to involve Baekhyun in his cover has sparked discussions about Taeyeon and Baekhyun's past relationship, which has upset fans.

In China, where Baekhyun has a big fan following, topics related to Sung Hanbin's action became trending on the social media platform Weibo. On top of that, many took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share their criticisms against Sung Hanbin, with many people agreeing with the negative comments.

Sung Hanbin has not released a statement on the matter. However, his fans are defending him.

It appears that ZEROBASEONE has been facing a series of issues lately, starting with Gunwook being wrongly accused of flirting with a sasaeng fan and Jiwoong facing accusations of using found language during a fancall.
