Here's what people are saying about the vocalist!

NMIXX Lily Serenades NSWERs with Mesmerizing Cover of IVE's 'I AM'

On February 6, "Lee Mujin Service" officially released its 100th episode, which guested K-pop stars Lily of NMIXX, Minnie of (G)I-DLE, and former TREASURE member Bang Yedam.

Since the show swaps between interview segments and live cover performances, all three idols gave their best in showcasing their singing skills. In episode 100, the artists performed songs such as "That's hilarious," "Confetti," "EYES, NOSE, LIPS" and "Thinking Out Loud."

However, the first K-pop idol to do a cover was Lily, who sang a ballad version of IVE's "I AM." With only a piano instrumental and her vocals, Lily sang her heart with ease, not showing any difficulties during the song's verses and chorus that were full of high notes.

The cover trended in an online forum, where netizens and NSWERs expressed how amazed they were with Lily's singing. Netters stated how much raw vocals are appreciated, while some commented how the piano arrangement made the song more somber.

Others remarked how amazing it was for Lily to sing a high-belting song such as "I AM" while sitting down. Read their comments below:

  • "I like raw lives like this so much."
  • "The piano arrangement sounds sad, I like the original."
  • "She sings this well while sitting down? She sang so well."
  • "Wow, she can sing anything and sound good."
  • "The moment the key started to rise, her level was just obviously different."

In a separate platform, international netizens pointed out Lily's "stare" after doing the cover, and indicated that the gesture meant she knew that she "slayed" the song. Fans then complimented Lily's vocal color, which according to many, is a breath of fresh air in the fourth-gen.

  • "The sudden stare after the high note was so funny. She made it look effortless."
  • "She knew she slayed."
  • "Wow, I heard she's good but didn't know she's that good."
  • "I'm glad she's an idol in the current idol slate. Vocals were never a big priority in the industry but it's music after all. Some of us just like to hear singers sing!"
  • "As expected from fourth-gen's incontestable top vocalist!"
  • "Her voice is fresh wind in the fourth-gen."

In other news, Lily has also appeared in another episode of "Lee Mujin Service." On its 29th episode, Lily impressed Lee Mujin with covers of "DICE," "Psycho," "Butter," and "How can I love the heartbreak, you're the one I love."
