Chuu Wins Second Trial Against BlockBerry Creative, Court Releases Brief Comment
On March 8, Korean news outlets reported that the 7th Civil Division of the Seoul High Court had ruled in favor of the plaintiff Chuu had filed against her former agency BlockBerry Creative in the second trial.
The Seoul High Court also commented on the matter, saying that the first trial's conclusion was fair. "Regarding the first trial, its result was reasonable," the court stated.
Earlier on August 17, 2023, the Seoul Northern District Court Civil Settlement's 12th division also favored Chuu over BlockBerry Creative, leading to her first win against the agency.
The lawsuit was filed by Chuu back in December 2022, when the idol sued the agency for giving out unfair profit distribution, alongside breach of trust. The case entered mediation in March 2023, however, the two opposing parties failed to compromise an agreement.
On November 25, 2022, BlockBerry announced the immediate removal of Chuu from LOONA and the agency due to "abuse of power." The company claimed that Chuu had allegedly used "violent language" and "power abuse" towards a staff member.
In response to the claims the agency made, Chuu took her thoughts to social media to voice out her side of the story. The idol assured that she hadn't done anything that would shame her fans, as well as addressed the slanderous news articles made online.

In February 2023, BlockBerry Creative confirmed that a petition was made to ban Chuu from all her activities in the entertainment sector, igniting fury from netizens and fans.
The agency based the filing on the claims that Chuu had allegedly violated one of the contract's terms by signing an early contract with BY4M STUDIO in 2021, while still being under BlockBerry.

Apart from Chuu, BlockBerry also planned to file a petition against members HeeJin, Choerry, Kim Lip, and JinSoul. Regarding the reactions to the fiasco, most fans are sided with Chuu and LOONA during their battle against BlockBerry Creative.
In January 2023, HeeJin, Choerry, Kim Lip, and Jin Soul won their lawsuits against BlockBerry. Subsequently, in June 2023, all 12 LOONA members successfully left the agency, since the Seoul High Court favored the five members namely HaSeil, YeoJin, Yves, HyeJu (Olivia Hye), and Go Won.
