In an interview, Oh My Girl YooA revealed that she has been keeping an eye on these 2 junior girl groups for THESE reasons.
On March 14, the third-gen female idol sat down for an interview with the K-media in celebration of her solo comeback. On this day, she also talked about her first single album, "BORDERLINE," diet, as well as the senior and junior idols who gave her inspiration.
Oh My Girl YooA Names Kiss Of Life, NewJeans As Juniors She Has Her Eyes On
In particular, YooA debuted in 2015 as a member of the 3rd-gen girl group, Oh My Girl. During their heyday, they rose to fame with their hits, "Dolphin," "Nonstop," "Dun Dun Dance," "Secret Garden," and more.
With the debut of fourth and fifth-gen girl groups, YooA became a senior and with this, she revealed that she has been keeping an eye on her juniors as well, especially KISS OF LIFE (KIOF) and NewJeans.
She explained:
"KISS OF LIFE was cool. I thought it was cool to see their confidence and pride even when they came up on stage or in shorts (YouTube). I feel like I also need to try hard without losing confidence."

Regarding NewJeans, she added:
"I also love NewJeans. I wish they were all my real sisters. They are so pretty and so lovely that I keep on watching them.
I have this thought, 'This is what idols are like' (when I'm watching them). Now that I have become an unnie, I feel healed by watching my younger sisters."
YooA Select Lee Hyori, BoA As Her Role Models
As YooA was also once a junior, the soloist also revealed the senior artists whom she looked up to, naming Lee Hyori and BoA.
"When I was younger, I thought the age 30 was already an old age. But now that I'm 30, I realized, 'I'm still a child.' I'm still yearning to be pampered and cry often.
I thought I would become a 'sexy diva' with authority and flavor like Lee Hyori sunbae, but I still look like a baby."
She then revealed that her role model was really Lee Hyori and BoA, explaining:
"That's right. I envy people like Lee Hyori and BoA who are good at everything. I often think that I want to be strong in my work and be enterprising on stage.
I filmed 'Open Concert' not long ago, and it was the day of the 'Red Carpet' filming, so I snooped around.
But I haven't met (Lee Hyori). I really want to be with her, but even if it's not my senior program, I definitely want to say hello to her later. If I meet her, I want to give her flowers as a gift. I thought my senior was like a rose."
