TWICE Dahyun Reveals First Thoughts Upon Meeting Tzuyu
On April 12, 2024, the official TWICE YouTube channel uploaded a video titled "2WICE의 데이2 (2WICE's DATE) Season 2 ep.다쯔 (DATZU)." In this video, Dahyun and Tzuyu have an adorable "date," attending a flower arrangement class.
During the date, the two talked about a variety of topics, such as heartwarming moments and their close friendship. As they were arranging flowers, Dahyun recalled the first time she met Tzuyu.
Dahyun reveals that she remembers vividly when she met Tzuyu for the first time. It was winter when Tzuyu entered JYP Entertainment as a trainee, and the moment she saw her, Dahyun immediately wanted to protect her.
Dahyun explained why, stating that when it's the first day as a trainee, it can be awkward as there are trainees who have been there before them. Dahyun stated that she knows that feeling well, which is why she wanted to take care of Tzuyu when she first entered the company.
However, the two had a language barrier, with Tzuyu unable to speak Korean and Dahyun not speaking Chinese. To compensate, Dahyun would repeatedly tell Tzuyu, "Wo ai ni," which translates to "I love you" in Chinese.
Tzuyu said she found Dahyun cute at the time, but that she also wondered if she was only saying that because it's the only Chinese phrase she knew. Dahyun admitted that was true, laughing.
