THIS is What Sets aespa Winter's Toreta CF Apart From Other Idol Brand Deals

Korean netizens have discovered what sets aespa Winter's brand deal with Toreta apart from other celebrities with similar CF contracts.

Back on April 1, Coca-Cola Korea announced Winter as the new face of isotonic drink brand Toreta. Since then, Korean netizens have patiently waited for her commercial with them to drop. It was finally released in the second week of April to raving reviews from South Koreans.

Now, people are discovering why Winter's CF is so refreshing. Keep on reading for all the details.

What Makes aespa Winter's Toretta CF Special Compared to Other Idol Brand Deals?

Winter has been selected as the new advertising model for Toreta.

On April 1, Coca-Cola Korea shared a photo of the aespa member as the new model for Toreta on their official Instagram account with the caption "Toreta! and Winter met!"

In the photo, Winter is facing forward with a bright smile, alongside Toreta. On top of her stunning visuals, the most prominent feature is Winter's blonde hair.

Until now, when it comes to ion drinks, most brands have selected black-haired or brunette advertising models. Additionally, most brands try to express the freshness of ion drinks with a blue background. This has been considered the formula for ads such as these.

A prime example is how Pocari Sweat handles its endorsements. Pocari has been featuring various models such as Kim So Hyun, TWICE, Lee Eun Jae, and Chuu. The common feature across all their ads is that they all have black or brown hair and are posed against a blue background.

Therefore, when Winter's photo with blonde hair was first released, various netizens on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) reacted with comments like "Winter is great, but a blonde model for ion drinks... Aren't there norms and rules in the world?"

However, on April 15, 15-second and 30-second advertisement videos were released and garnered completely different reactions on social media.

In the advertisement, Winter, with her yellow blonde hair that fits perfectly with the green background, flawlessly expresses the fresh uniqueness of ion drinks.

Netizens who saw the video welcomed the birth of a new ion drink advertisement formula. They left several comments in favor of Winter's ad. Some comments read,

  • "It's okay not to follow the official ion drink black hair rule."
  • "In ion drink ads, is black hair the norm and rule of the world? Winter's blonde ad broke prejudices."
