EXO-Ls and Bunnyzens have divided opinions as Suho utilized AI for the music video of his latest song, "Cheese," featuring Red Velvet Wendy.
On May 20, the double title track "Cheese" MV and its digital source were simultaneously dropped on various music platforms ahead of the official release of his 3rd mini-album, "1 to 3," on June 3.
Prior to this, the second lead track with the same name will be unveiled on May 31st.
In the meantime, EXO-Ls (EXO fandom) and Bunnyzens (Suho solo fandom) showed their excitement as Red Velvet Wendy and Suho showed their vocal chemistry while depicting the lyrics about their relationship with an old lover.
The message compares "Cheese" to love, which "breaks when cold, and melts when hot."
When the MV was then revealed, it drew rave reviews from fans, praising its creative concept and his comical chemistry with Wendy.
Unfortunately, not everyone was fully impressed by the male idol after his fans complained about him using AI.
An X account vented their frustration about how Suho "took 10 steps back" for using the new tech, rather than commissioning professional artists to make real art, just like what he has been doing since his debut.

Following this, some fans agreed and claimed that it is a valid argument, given that Suho giving importance to the value of classical art before is what made him stand out among the influx of soloists. Fans called it "unethical," "unauthentic," and "lazy."
Nevertheless, Eris jumped to Suho's defense, stating that using AI doesn't make his art any less, and attacked the original poster. Other fans assumed that the fan was just "jealous" of Suho being with Wendy in the MV and asked them to just leave the fandom.
Suho's supporters even found "receipts" of the OP "hating" on Wendy and at the same time supporting AI by creating AI artworks inspired by Suho's and other idols' releases.
Regardless of this debate, Suho's "Cheese" earned support from global fans after it topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 21 regions, including Saudi Arabia, Finland, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Argentina, Bulgaria, Chile, Oman, Peru, El Salvador, and more.
This new song also ranked in the TOP 5 in a total of 28 regions, including Singapore, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Thailand, and more, demonstrating the high interest of global fans.
