VIPs Recall Times BIGBANG Warned Seungri: 'You Might Go To Jail, Don't Be A Fraud'

Following the "Burning Sun" documentary exposing Seungri's major role in the case, K-pop fans including VIPs re-examined the time BIGBANG members directly warned their former co-member's antics, which would later become crimes.

On May 19, the British public broadcast channel BBC released a documentary about the "Burning Sun Gate" controversy, centering on the prostitution, sexual assault, rape and police corruption that took place inside Gangnam's one of the most popular clubs back in 2018-2019.

It discussed the key role of Seungri, one of the owners of the club and his connection with Jung Joon Young, a sexual assault & rape perpetrator who created the secret Kakao Talk group chat with K-pop idols, where he would share "molkas" (illegally filmed videos of their victims.)

When the documentary spread online, netters can't help but re-examine the people around these criminals as well, fans recalling the times BIGBANG might have foreseen that their former co-member would end up in jail and do such heinous acts.

On X, past videos of the K-pop icons were being circulated and among them, one of the hottest topics was T.O.P's remark where he called out Seungri's choice of friends and his "greed" for money overshadowing their passion for music.

T.O.P said:

"Some of his friends I get glimpses of at the concert worry me. I get the feeling that some of them are by his side not because they like him but because they like his title."

He continued:

"Seungri, we weren't like this in the past. Until when do we need to talk about money? We met with a passion for music. We should talk about the future. It seems like you only talk about money these days."

In a past Japanese interview prior to their military enlistment, Taeyang warned Seungri who would be left alone and said:

"We can't protect you anymore. Seungri will be representing BIGBANG alone, so please be careful. If anything happens, we are finished. I will really be over. It's time to say goodbye."

In another clip shared online, G-Dragon also blatantly told Seungri.

"To Seungri, don't be a fraud. You might go to jail and eat tofu."

In fact, fans even found out that GD even dissed Seungri's circle of friends in one of his songs, "Middle Finger through the lyrics:

"You say, 'We have met before.'
-What? No, we haven't.
You say, 'I'm close with Seungri.'
-So what?
You ask me, 'Can you give me your number so we can get together sometime to have a drink? I know a lot of pretty girls.'
-But why in the hell I would give you my number? Who are you?"

Aside from this, there are multiple times that T.O.P tried to stop associating BIGBANG with Seungri, even declaring that they only have four members.

When T.O.P left BIGBANG, Daesung also didn't recognize Seungri as a former co-member, which for fans speaks heavy volumes.
