aespa Makes Unexpected Appearance on Kim Kardashian's Instagram Story

aespa made an unexpected cameo in A-list celebrity Kim Kardashian's Instagram Story.

On November 10, 2023, aespa released the single "Drama." The song was a massive success both in South Korea and internationally. It peaked at number two on South Korea's Weekly Circle Chart, while in the United States, "Drama" peaked at number eight on the World Digital Song Sales Chart.

Overall, it charted in the top ten in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Though it has been six months since the song's release, it is still trendy and relevant. Now, it has been brought to a bigger stage after the song was used in Kim Kardashian's Instagram Story!

Disney+ recently released the trailer for the first episode of season five of "The Kardashian." With the first five seconds, fans could immediately hear the chimes used in the intro of "Drama." The instrumental could be heard for most of the trailer as BGM.

However, they also used parts where the members could hear the iconic line, "I bring / I bring all the Drama." The lines "With my girls in the back / Girls in the back/ Drama."

While fans were already reeling over the fact that "Drama" was used as the background music for "The Kardashian" trailer, it was what Kim Kardashian did next that sent MYs into a frenzy; she shared the trailer, with aespa's "Drama" as the background song, to her Instagram Story.

Kim Kardashian currently has over 362 million followers on Instagram. With that, it is likely that fans who had never even heard of aespa now know of "Drama" thanks to the American socialite.

On social media, netizens couldn't get over aespa's unexpected "debut" in Kim Kardashian's solo media. People noted that the impact of their song "Drama" must have been huge for such a globally popular and renowned show to have used it in their trailer.

aespa dropped the music video for "Supernova" on May 13 as a pre-release to their upcoming full-length album, "Armageddon," which will be unveiled on May 27. The album will be released alongside the single of the same name.

In June 2024, aespa will embark on their second world tour, "SYNK: Parallel Line," starting with two concerts in Seoul.
