NewJeans' fandom Bunnies has taken a stand against the potential removal of ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, citing concerns about the impact on the group's trajectory and stability within the K-pop industry.
In a recent announcement on May 23rd, Bunnies revealed their intent to submit a petition to challenge Min Hee-jin's dismissal and safeguard the continuity of NewJeans‘ activities.
In the petition addressed to HYBE, the parent company of ADOR, Bunnies expressed deep apprehension about the current discord between HYBE and Min Hee-jin.
They emphasized the critical juncture at which NewJeans finds itself, poised for significant growth, and highlighted the anxiety caused by the ongoing dispute among NewJeans members and their dedicated fanbase.
A spokesperson for Bunnies stated, "At this critical juncture where NewJeans is poised for significant growth, a dispute between the parent company HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin has surfaced, causing great anxiety for both NewJeans and their fans."
The petition further elucidated, "We are well aware of the significant investment HYBE has made in NewJeans, and we believe that Min Hee-jin, who has shown immense affection and responsibility towards NewJeans, has faithfully fulfilled her duties as a CEO by growing NewJeans and generating stable revenue for ADOR."
"We understand that until there is a final legal conclusion regarding any alleged illegal actions by Min Hee-jin, the contractual terms between the parties should be respected, and Min Hee-jin's position should be maintained. This is also the wish of NewJeans members, which aligns with our intention to support NewJeans."
The petition also emphasized the collective recognition of Min Hee-jin's contributions to NewJeans' success and the desire to preserve the strong bond between her and the group for their continued growth and prosperity.
In solidarity with Bunnies, other ADOR employees and individuals associated with Min Hee-jin have also voiced their opposition to her dismissal by submitting petitions.
The situation is set to escalate as HYBE plans an extraordinary general meeting on May 31st to replace Min Hee-jin and ADOR's management. However, Min Hee-jin has taken legal action by filing an injunction to halt the exercise of voting rights, with the court's decision on the injunction anticipated before the scheduled meeting.
