In 2019, the entertainment industry in Korea was left shocked by the scandalous revelations involving Seungri and his close friends. During this period, netizens began scrutinizing past incidents that hinted at Seungri’s questionable behavior Notably, an incident from a 2018 BLACKPINK concert in Korea was revisited, and is earning attention in 2023.
Allegedly, Seungri had spread false rumors about Jennie. The female idol bravely addressed the rumors during a BLACKPINK concert in which Seungri made an appearance. She told the audience, "Oppa, I heard you tell people in the background that I touched your shoulder, but I have never done that."

Caught in an awkward public moment, Seungri responded by deflecting with a line from Jennie’s song "SOLO." Rosé then asked him to stop and not spoil anything, to which Seungri replied he couldn't help himself since he loved the song.
The scrutiny didn’t stop there. Several netizens on community forums and social media also reevaluated an exchange between Seungri and Jisoo at that same concert.
Seungri greeted Jisoo, telling the female idol, "Jisoo, it's been a while." Immediately, she diverted the conversation with a seemingly unrelated comment, saying, "You were really kind during the concert."
Even as Seungri sought to smooth over the interaction by asking her to be quiet, Jisoo continued. She stated sarcastically, "I was very surprised because you are so kind."
The conversation awkwardly ended with Seungri repeating, "Jisoo, I love you, I love you."
This interaction between Seungri and BLACKPINK, which was once viewed as banter between label mates, is now being seen in a new light following BBC's "Burning Sun" documentary. The public began to see it as a potentially deliberate move by BLACKPINK to distance themselves from Seungri’s controversial persona, using humor and vague statements to hint at the former BIGBANG member's true character without being embroiled in controversy.
