aespa Winter 'Demands' SM to Produce More 'Armageddon' CDP: 'We Couldn't Get One Ourselves'

During aespa's "Armageddon" showcase, Winter urged SM Entertainment to make more copies of their first studio album's CDP version after it sold out in just a day.

On May 27, aespa held a comeback showcase to commemorate the release of their 1st full-length album at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

The album consists of 10 songs, including the double title track, "Supernova" and "Armageddon." Its physical copy also has 21 versions!

Fans can select the copy that they prefer, from 5 "MY POWER" versions, 4 "SUPERBEING" versions, 4 "POSTER" versions, 1 "ZINE" version, 2 "AUTHENTIC" versions, 4 "Smini" versions and 1 CDP.

But among them, what became a hot topic among fans the most was the CDP version of "Armageddon," which comes with an actual CD PLAYER!

Through this, all 10 songs can be immediately played through the device, and it can also be connected through Bluetooth!

Despite being pricey, CPD ver. shockingly sold out in less than a day multiple times and during the showcase, aespa talked about the beginning of the idea.

Leader Karina narrated:

"The company suggested the CD player album first, so we received it and were very impressed. If we release a CD player album in the next album, we want to include a lot of our ideas."

However, Winter complained about its few stocks and indirectly demanded SM to produce more so that more fans could have it.

In fact, Winter revealed that even the members failed to purchase a copy after it sold out!

"I wish we could have the CD player, too. They are all sold out, so we couldn't get one ourselves. We want more copies to be released so that the members can have them and give them to our parents. I hope that many fans who want them can also have them."

Meanwhile, aespa's first full-length album, "Armageddon" was officially released on various music sites at 6 PM KST on May 27.

The double title track, "Armageddon" released after "Supernova" is a hip-hop dance song with a heavy sound and a rough, restrained tone.

The lyrics contain the message of "meeting a different 'me' in a different world and being reborn as a complete 'me'."

The performance also shows the upgraded stage control of the members who seem to be one with the groove and music that only aespa can express.

Ahead of its release, the album exceeded 1.02 million pre-ordered copies, and they are expected to become a fourth million-seller with this album following their previous albums, "Girls," "MY WORLD," and "Drama."
