(G)I-DLE Yuqi Reveals She Was Invited at Her K-pop Bias' Wedding — But Why Didn't She Attend?

After being invited by her ultimate bias for 15 years to his wedding, (G)I-DLE Yuqi was forced to give up her attendance at her idol's special day for THIS reason.

On May 26, Super Junior Ryeowook finally tied the knot with Ari. They held a private wedding in Seoul, which was attended by their families, and close friends, including former Tahiti members, S.E.S Bada, Im Siwan, and more.

What made the ceremony memorable was the reunion of Super Junior OT15 after a decade, including inactive members Sungmin and Zhou Mi, as well as former members Kangin, Han Geng, Kibum, and Henry.

When this knowledge came to ELFs (Super Junior fandom), they rejoiced and broke into tears, seeing the full lineup in one frame.

Just then, Yuqi drew attention from fans for her reaction. It is no secret how huge of an ELF she is.

Since the "Sorry, Sorry" era (2009), Yuqi had been supporting the 2nd-gen group. She was an ordinary teenager back then. And even after her debut as (G)I-DLE in 2018, she remained vocal about her love for Super Junior.

Although she supports the group in general, Yuqi also has one member who she likes the most, and it is none other than Ryeowook!

In the past, she would always attend the idol's events and send him a support truck. And lucky for her, because the 2nd-gen singer would do the same.

Also, just like any other fan, Yuqi felt "jealous" after Ryeowook publicized his relationship with Ari in 2020, but later on, she congratulated them and wished them the best.

Her love for him only got stronger since then. After finding out that he was going to get married in 2024, the "Tomboy" singer said:

"(Soyeon) kept on teasing me and told me not to cry. I was like, 'Why should I cry?' I wish him all the best. It's a good thing."

After that, Yuqi was given the chance to meet just the two of them through Ryeowook's variety music talk show, "Life Snapshot" Episode 5, uploaded on Heyday's official YouTube channel.

At the time, the female idol confessed that the reasons he became her ultimate bias were due to his vocals, visuals, and funny yet kind-hearted personality.

On May 27 then, Chinese fans were able to talk to Yuqi and opened up about being invited to Ryeowook's wedding!

Here, the young idol expressed her regrets, saying:

"I wasn't able to attend Ryeowook's wedding yesterday. I was invited to sing songs but I already had a prior schedule."

On the same day of the ceremony, Yuqi attended the Hangzhou Strawberry Music Festival and had a solo performance of songs included in her first mini-album, "YUQ1," such as "Freak."

While she had to give up a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for this event, it was visible that Yuqi had a blast with Neverlands (fandom), and surely, Ryeowook must be so proud of his long-time fan as well.
