WAKEONE Slammed For Giving Kep1er Hand-Me-Downs From IZ*ONE: ‘Are They Poor?!’

After Kep1er revealed a number of things from their dormitory that used to belong to IZ*ONE, fans are slamming WAKEONE for being stingy.

On June 5, 2024, the latest episode of Lee Chaeyeon's drinking show, "Inssadong Sulzzi," was uploaded to YouTube. For this episode, Kep1er joined Chaeyeon as her guest. There, they comfortably spoke about their lives, careers, and more while drinking soju and having dried snacks.

During the show, the topic of their dorm life was brought up. There, the Kep1er members revealed that several items in their dormitory are hand-me-downs from IZ*ONE. In fact, they lived in the same dormitory as IZ*ONE! Some of the things they inherited include the TV, fridge, sofa, and more.

Upon hearing this, Chaeyeon questioned how Kep1er learned the stuff used to belong to IZ*ONE. There, Yeseo revealed that she opened the freezer and discovered something had been labeled "Da best Hitomi." Honda Hitomi is a former member of IZ*ONE who is now active in Japan.

After hearing this, Chaeyeon revealed that the items they owned were actually passed down to them from the previous "Produce" group, WANNA ONE. Hearing this, some fans loved how there was a sense of "siblinghood" between the three groups, with some joking that it was cute how the three Mnet project groups shared items.

However, not everyone was enthusiastic about this news.

WANNA ONE debuted in 2017, meaning the items in Kep1er's dorms are over seven years old. Many believed that most items, especially electronics, likely become out of date by this time and questioned why WAKEONE wouldn't give Kep1er new items despite being a newer group.

Additionally, the consistent use between a large number of people could mean the items' qualities had deteriorated, which would make them unfit to use now.

Many also pointed out that WANNA ONE, IZ*ONE, and Kep1er are all successful groups, so the company should not lack any resources to provide the latter with new items. All groups are million album sellers, leaving many wondering what WAKEONE is doing to the money if not into Kep1er.
