On X, THIS female idol drew attention from K-pop fans for her reaction after finding herself in a "nugu" promoter account.
On June 10, K-pop soloist GYUBIN became a hot topic after she retweeted a post on X, promoting her upcoming comeback on June 26th. The reason her reaction blew up was because of her caption, "nugu," with a heart and teary-eyed emoji as well as a thumbs up.
In the K-pop community, international fans use the word "nugu" to refer to artists who are "unknown" or "unpopular" and yet to reach stardom.
GYUBIN also reposted other X accounts posts who promoted her upcoming release, drawing attention from K-pop fans.
Seeing her do this, fans found her really cute, and at the same time, they felt a little sad that not a lot of music fans know about her.
Due to her perseverance and sincerity, there are fans from other fandoms who claimed to support her on her album so that she can finally graduate from the "nugudom," leaving comments such as:

Meanwhile, 17-year-old GYUBIN debuted as a solo artist under LiveWorks Company on Jan. 17, 2024.
She debuted with her song, "Really Like You," and the song earned decent success in both domestic and international fans, reaching #1 on Billboard Japan's 'Hitseekers Song' chart.
Prior to her debut, she became a familiar face in the music scene after working with established singers including Gaeko, Wonstein and Nell. In 2023, she dropped pre-release singles, "Scribble" (feat. Wonstein), and "Start to Shine" (feat. Gaeko). She also joined the survival show, "Top 10 Students in 2020.
Despite her young age, she was promoted as a "super rookie," who is skilled in singing, playing instruments, songwriting, composing and more. GYUBIN is attracting attention if she will be able to star a new era of female soloists among fifth-generation K-pop idol.
In history, there are few solo idols who were able to establish a career alone, just like IU, her role model. Expectation is high if she will be able to do so.
On the other hand, five months since her debut, GYUBIN is set to return in the music scene with her new song, the 3rd digital single, "Satellite," which is set to be unveiled on June 26.
Ahead of her comeback, her agency LiveWorks Company dropped her comeback poster where she was seen sitting in an attic. Her dreamy expression piques fans' curiosity in what kind of music will she release this time.
