After winning their first-ever trophy in a South Korean music show, the China-based K-pop group also attracted rave reviews for their live vocals during their encore.
On June 11, the 356th episode of SBS M, SBS FiL's "The Show" was aired showcasing the performance of a star-studded lineup of K-pop idols and trot singers.
On this day then, TWS, WayV and Kep1er were nominated for "The Show Choice" (1st place) and upon combining the scores of music, album, video, broadcast, advance voting and real-time voting, WayV prevailed and was crowned.
This is truly a huge achievement for the group as this is their first-ever music show win in Korea after debuting in 2019 as a sub-unit of SM Entertainment's large-scale group NCT based in China.
Winning first place in Korea is a significant signal that their influence and popularity are finally spreading in the country as well.
Receiving their much-awaited trophy, leader Kun showed their gratitude to its fandom, WayZenNies, its label, staff and the people behind who helped them with their album.
Xiaojun, who is one of the MCs of the show also broke in tears and promised to fans that they will work harder in the future.

As the group bagged their first-ever music show win through their 5th mini-album, "Give Me That," they were also given the chance to sing their latest track together with fans.
During their encore, the members truly served a funky and energetic stage showing off their stable and impressive live vocals despite being in tears.
Netizens who saw this flooded them with positive feedback such as:
"It’s an honor to share the moment of your first win. Congratulations. Let’s only walk on the path to first place from now on."
"After listening to the encore live, I understand that you ate the CD, but make sure to eat something delicious later!'
“You’re good at live. There are no holes.”
"Their vocals are great.”
Meanwhile, WayV is a multinational boy group launched in 2019 consisting of non-Korean members from China, Thailand and Taiwan such as Kun, Ten, Xiaojun, Hendery, Winwin and YangYang.
On June 3 then, they dropped their 5th mini-album, "Give Me That" which upon release topped the iTunes Top Album Chart in 19 regions worldwide and Top 5 in a total of 24 regions.
In China, they then sat atop the digital sales charts of QQ Music, kuguo Musica and NetEase Cloud music, proving their impact in the country.
Unfortunately, the members weren't able to share the happy moment of winning their first trophy with Winwin, who skipped the album promotion activities this time to focus on filming his upcoming Chinese drama.
