BLINKs believe BLACKPINK member Rosé shaded YG Entertainment in her latest statement, which she posted on Instagram.
On June 18, 2024, Rosé took to Instagram to share a lengthy statement, confirming she had signed with THEBLACKLABEL as her official music management.
In her statement, Rosé acknowledges the long wait fans had for news on the BLACKPINK member's future activities. She revealed why she took her time, stating that she did not want to speak on or announce anything before she was sure the plans were set. She added in her statement that she hates saying that she has something before she actually does.
Rosé also revealed that she has been in and out of the studio almost every day since the end of 2023 throughout 2024, working on new music. She has been busy navigating what she wants to do going forward and drawing up a map of what kind of artist she wants to be. Rosé then states that THEBLACKLABEL will be managing her activities and helping her achieve her dreams moving forward.
The female idol hinted at new activities soon, stating that there will be exciting announcements soon. She asks fans to anticipate her new music. However, there is one part of her statement that caught people's eye, with many believing Rosé was shading her previous company, YG Entertainment.
In her statement, she stated, "As you all know, I have come from a place where more things have been done for me over doing things on my own." Many took this as a subtle jab against her previous company and its over-controlling nature.
In the past, YG Entertainment has repeatedly been slammed by BLINKs for blocking potential projects and collaborations for the BLACKPINK members. One notable case is when, in 2020, Gallant commented on Rosé's Instagram post, stating he had sent her a song.
During a live stream, many had asked about the status of the collaboration, with Gallant revealing Rosé actually did get back to him. However, he stated that he "doesn't have a good relationship with people's companies," leading many to believe YG Entertainment put a stop to the collab.

On top of that, Rosé only released one single album as a soloist under YG Entertainment, and the girl group often faced year-long hiatuses between BLACKPINK releases. Many believe this was the company's doing, and not the member's. It appears the members were just as irritated with the situation as fans, leading Rosé to make her claim on Instagram.
Fans are happy Rosé is able to speak her mind now that she is free from YG Entertainment. They are glad that now that she is under THEBLACKLABEL, she will be able to work on the music she wants. Many are anticipating the idol's upcoming music.
